I’m posting a link to a blog post that hits a nerve of mine.
It’s bad enough that the news story in question is doing a live, on-location report in the first place because it’s live at a place where absolutely nothing is happening, that has absolutely nothing to do with the story, a local news gimmick that I hate
But when the story is about teen drug use in SoJoCo, why in the world is the live report from a location in KCMO that is not mentioned in the story whatsoever?

I noticed earlier today that there was no construction equipment or barricades blocking the entrance of the Scooter’s Coffee House at 10th & Walnut. That’s the first time in weeks. In fact, today probably still only makes less than 10 days in the entire 2 years or so that Scooter’s has been open that some sort of construction or utility work hasn’t been taking place right in front of their door. As soon as one project ends, another begins.

My former arch-nemesis is gone. The sign shop and tattoo parlor that moved in downstairs from me a couple of years ago packed up and moved out yesterday.
They were my arch nemesis because when they first moved in they had a band that practiced loud amplified music almost every evening and threw loud late-night parties (sometimes until past 3am) just about every week, even on work nights. I don’t care if the residents of a particular town decided to ban fireworks, that’s their right.
But Gladstone, MO is taking it further. If you’re route home from buying fireworks happens to pass through Gladstone, the local police intend to pull you over and cite you for possession of fireworks within city limits.
