I hate web sites that use way too much Flash for no reason.
Earlier today I was trying to find information about a particular flavor of Doritos, so I popped over to the Doritos Web site to look up what I needed.
What I found was a site that is rendered virtually useless because somebody decided to spend at least hundreds of thousands of dollars to let some overpaid designer have a flashgasm all over my screen.
When people go to a corporate product-related Web site they are almost always going there to find information about the products. In this case, flavors, nutrition information, etc. We’re not there to see someone’s trendy art project and sit there waiting for screen loads and animations before spending even more time attempting to decipher what the site even means and how to get to the information we are looking for.
Corporations need to remember that their web sites exist first and foremost to make it easy for consumers to find the information they need about their projects.

Wait… you were doing on-line research on a particular flavor of Doritos?
That ICCM site is hilarious. It’s like an ad for the Marines.
